Luntu Vumazonke is an up-coming young artist from Cape Town, Cross Roads. He works in drawing, illustration and comics. Luntu has participated in a number of group shows and exhibitions over the past few years including an Art Festival in Rome, which is called Crack Festival in 2018. His comic illustrations have been published in various publications including GrafLit Urban Interiors 2014 and two International publications which is Afri Kuthi and an Anthology by Short Run Micropress. His work has also been translated in Italian and Swedish. Luntu's illustration work was also nominated to be part of the collection of the Library in Rome, which is dedicated to Nelson Mandela and South Africa, called the Bibliotheca Nelson Mandela. This helped him gain invaluable experience as a young creative. He has also worked on private and public mural commissions.
Luntu looks up to artists such as Andy Mason, Jean De Wet, Su Opperman, Loyiso Mkhize, Mogorisi Motshumi, Harry Flosser and Zapiro and has had the opportunity to work with and alongside them.
